Our Volunteers and Staff

The Boona-Baana Center for Children’s Rights is a small, grass-roots organization located in Dar es Salaam Tanzania. Our aim is to create a series of local, sustainable projects which will assist vulnerable children.

Professor Bart A. Rwezaura – Executive Director
Prof. Rwezaura is the executive director and founding member of the Boona-Baana Center for Children’s Rights and The Green Door Home for Children. Prof. Rwezaura is an advocate of the High Court of Tanzania and holds degrees from The University of Makerere, Harvard University (USA) and Warwick University (in the United Kingdom). Prof. Rwezaura is formerly a professor of law at the University of Dar es Salaam and currently a professor of law at the University of Hong Kong. Prof. Rwezaura is an expert on the rights of women and children and family law.
Marco Barra-Castro - Managing Director
		Marco is the Head Co-ordinator and a founding member of the Green Door Home as well as the Boona-Baana Center for Children’s Rights. Marco is experienced in project development, management.. Marco heads the team of staff and volunteers at the Green Door Home and he is in charge of all matters relating to the management of the Green Door Home and the Boona Baana Center.
Brooke Montgomery - Fundraising & Information Director
		Brooke is a director and founding member of the Boona-Baana Center for Children’s Rights. Brooke is qualified as a lawyer in the United Kingdom and Hong Kong and she is currently employed as a Principal Legal Associate with the Tanzanian law firm of Mkono & Company Advocates. Brooke has extensive academic and practical experience in Child Adoption (both international and domestic) and Foster Care and is a Children’s Rights Advocate. She is also the director of Tanzania's only adoption society, the Tanzania Adoption Society
